PSALM 115:14-15:
14 May the LORD give you increase more and more,
You and your children.
15 May you be blessed by the LORD,
Who made heaven and earth.”

OBSERVATION: This morning as I open God’s Word, as I meditate and pray, I am drawn to these words. It is a prayer for blessing and provision for those who place their trust in the Lord. In contrast to those who trust in idols made of gold and silver the Psalmist proclaims:

9 “O Israel, trust in the LORD;
He is their help and their shield.
10 O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD;
He is their help and their shield.
11 You who fear the LORD, trust in the LORD;
He is their help and their shield.”

So it is appropriate and good to pray for blessing and provision for those who place their trust in the Lord. This morning I direct my heart in prayer for you –

“May the Lord give you increase more and more.” May He bless the work of your hands, your resources, and your generosity and care for others. May He grant you favor in the workplace and in your home. May you be the godly husband, wife, father, mother, sister, brother – that the Lord is calling you to be.

“You and your children.” May your children, and your children’s children be blessed to grow up in a godly home and choose to serve the Lord at a young age. May they see the example of godly parents and grandparents and choose to walk in the paths of righteousness and fruitfulness as they place their faith in Jesus Christ and walk according to His way. May their lives be protected from harm and blessed with health as their soul prospers in the Lord.

“May you be blessed by the Lord Who made heaven and earth.” May you most of all grow in His character and His love. May you be transformed in you inner man to become more and more like Jesus Christ. May the Fruit of the Spirit abound in you and overflow. May the blessing of the Creator reside in your spirit and continually lead you in the paths of righteousness, blessing, and life.

On this Thanksgiving week – I pray that you may be greatly blessed. May He continue to watch over all the concerns of your heart and fulfill His perfect will in your life. May you know the blessings of thanksgiving and praise as you look unto Him. In Jesus Name!

About Kirk's Devotional Journal

Kirk L. Zehnder is the Founder of Resurrection Christian Outreach. RCO is a ministry that promotes the growth and vitality of the local church through speaking engagements, seminars, various media tools, and written curriculum and books. This ministry was started over 35 years ago by Kirk as a means to strengthen the church that he was pastoring. It grew as Kirk began to share these tools with other churches. Today many of the materials are being used by local churches both nationally and internationally. Kirk's Devotional Journal is a result of struggling with Bible reading programs that never seemed to work. Kirk feels the Lord helped him discover an easy-to-follow program to Read, Reflect, Pray, and Journal through the Bible in one year. This program is called L.I.F.E. Unlike other programs there are no dates to follow. You can miss a day and still complete your reading. You never feel like the dates and verses you missed are chasing you. You are free to enjoy your daily Biblical journey and listen to the voice of The Lord. For more information on the L.I.F.E. plan, send an email to rcoutreach@aol.com. Kirk is also available for speaking engagements, seminars, and retreats. With over 40 years of professional business and pastoral ministry experience, Kirk brings a unique combination of practical wisdom, humor, and Biblical insight. If you would like Kirk to speak at your church, school, or ministry, please send an email to rcoutreach@aol.com and we will get back to you as soon as possible to discuss your opportunity.
